What do you know about acute HIV syndrome?

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

The acute syndrome of HIV was primarily explained as a flu or mononucleosis-like illness. Acute syndrome of HIV can now be recognized in 30%-50% of newly HIV virus contracted individuals during the time of seroconversion. It is the statistics since the early years of HIV. During the primary stage of infection, the replication of HIV is very fast. With the rising of HIV level in the blood the immune system is assaulted by its beginning and finally deteriorating it to the point of sourcing symptoms.

Acute syndrome of HIV is so parallel with the other general illnesses like flu, influenza or mononucleosis that the diagnosis of the syndrome is repeatedly overlooked or misjudged. It is often seen that the patient have been permitted to go back to home because of unawareness of the serious problem. It is to be remembered that it may be the reason of great harm to themselves as well as others. So this is very much the responsiblity for the medical practitioner to identify it properly.

My ex was misdiagnosed by a stupid doctor, he had been suffering with flu like symptoms, fever, sore muscles, only exception was a body rash. Doctor told him it was going around and gave him cream for rash told him to wait it out. A year later he teste positive for HIV, amazingly I tested negative twice within a six month period. After reading this I wonder if I have it lying dormant in my body too just waiting to wake up, I think I will get tested a third time just to be on the safe side. He said he believes he was infected about eight months before he met me by a one night stand he met with in a bar, which meant that at the time he had been infected almost two years prior to getting tested freakin scary! We are not together anymore but still the symptoms I read on this blog I never knew they could develope TB too, geez these poor people, thanks for the info, please keep trying to find a cure for his dreaded disease ITS GOT TO GO!!!

Unfortunately a misdiagnoses can go on for serveral weeks and months without any symptoms, Until you start to develop
a cold or fever or sore achey muscels
a flu-like symptom which is most common with the flu virus but the only way for tests to be sure of someone with aids is to be tested prior to having unsafe sex with someone who's infected by dirty
needles or by diseases, Usually found in the blood cells when your white and red blood cells arn't doing their job to fight off infections like colds or viruses you have AIDS and should be tested, It effects your whole body until your body shuts down completely until it kills you which is within 6 months to a year, Unfortunately there is no cure for AIDS maybe someday their will be but no one knows for sure when that'll be,,,,, But we also have to find cures for other diseases like cancer and things like that, Aids is not the only disease that kills people
cancer is known to be the silent killer in women so we need to stop be igonorent
and only think of finding a cure for aids when we need to find cures for cancers as well

I was diagnosed 19 years ago and have come very close to dying several times. I just got out of an 8 year relationship and he still is negative as of last week. I am not convinced they know for sure how long it can be for the virus to show its ugly self. People need to understand that it only takes 1 time not being safe! And it affects everyone differently .. I am 1 of the lucky ones who has done well with the drugs for the most part. Alot and I mean ALOT of my friends have not been so lucky! PLEASE protect yourselves AND your partners !

How can health care providers determine how long someone had HIV before being diagnose as positive from a full-blown AIDS crisis? I for example was told I was infected maybe for more than 10 yrs before being confirmed that I was positive from a full-blown AIDS episode(meningitis/pneumonia=4days in coma). And the article says "replication of HIV is very fast" so could I have contracted HIV more recently and quickly developed AIDS?

I am happy to see people here talking about this. I would never negate the fact that we need a cure for cancers as well, both my parents are cancer survivors, unfortunately all these years later I still find that people have difficulty talking about hiv/aids openly and honestly. You can have a conversation about cancer with someone and its like talking about a cold .. but mention hiv/aids and 9 times out of 10 people will clam up and shy away. Its out there people ... and not talking about it will not make it dissapear. Get educated, get a voice and be safe!

I think you should rephrase the first sentance in your article, "The acute syndrome of HIV was primarily explained as a flu or mononucleosis-like illness influencing gay men." I was diagnosed in 2005 with Acute Infection, and I am NOT gay. Hmmm could it be misinformation like this that really keep the stigma going...

Try getting someone who is educated about this stuff to write about it, instead of passing it off to some idiot on your staff.

Hello,I read someone comment that god sent this disease to earth, Well the truth is god did not send it satan did his plan is to steal, kill and destroy but jesus came that you may have life and that more abundantly.Give your life to christ he has the power to heal you and give you eternal life.Behold he makes all things new christ does.Satan offer temporary pleasure but the end is destruction except christ as your lord and savior and live, how do you do that confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that god raised jesus from the dead and repent of your sins and ask jesus to be your lord and savior and thou shall be saved.God Bless you and may his saving grace rest and abide with you now and forever and remember that god loves you no matter the situation.

Why is there no talk of seroconversion?

How long does it last,. what does it feel like. I always ask people if they knew when they seroconversion. and most say they felt like every cell in their body was changing. Harsh Extreame Flu Symptoms. Any Comments from others?

I come from conservative family and Yes no one talked about sex education in our family. I also have been sexually molested as a kid. Having a sex is pretty hard to me each time. But i have been tested negative after 6 month of having unprotected. I keep getting tested each year to make sure in future if i find someone I be sure i don't carry this disease. I would say everyone need to talk to there kids and be open about this topic. Else this is revolving door someone will keep passing to other either unknowingly or knowingly .

In my opinion, some things which adversely affect the immune system (only for the light-hearted): social Drugs - intraveinous drugs - pharmaceuticals - prior std's - malnutrition(very prevelant in Africa, you see?) - eating nonliving, overprocessed food)- toxins - a profound hatred of life - hatred of others -vaccines - FEAR - lack of sunlight on the skin - absence of love (think of a baby or even an adult who is ignored and never touched) - being non integrous - greed - stress - anger -hardcore pornography - guilt - judgement of self and others - SHAME.

Just be honest, always communicate and make visits to center that offer HIV testing free. Services is out there don't be afraid to learn about HIV/AIDS, get tested. I don't think this problem will ever go away, so many young people are at risk as well as older adults. If you are aware of a problem within yourself please be honest with the next individual. This goes for anything!

Thank you

That it is NOT a syndrome simply a myth like all the 'AIDS' BS.

When will this utter nonsense end. The facts are now so clear it is hard to believe anyone still buys into 'AID$'.

"I can stop taking all those medications that have ruined my insides for the last 19 years!"

Did you know that according to the CDC's own statistics, 57% of ALL so called AIDS mortalities are from liver failure. Liver failure is a medication related 'side effect' NOT an AIDS related disease.

In other words, 67% of 'AIDS' deaths are really medication deaths. In addition other side effects account for more mortalities incorrectly attributed to 'AIDS'.

All I know is everyone is different in how they react to medications and the virus. I had friends that died within a year of being diagnosed and i have 1 friend who was diagnose 24 years ago and is still kicking. My dr tests my liver function on a regular basis. No problems. The meds have however eaten a whole in my stomache lining which I take yet another medication to control. Me personally .. its a small price to pay to live to see my kids grow up and marry and continue to educate others about the prevention of hiv
