GOALS

The CENTER FOR AIDS PREVENTION confronts the disease with a comprehensive plan:

  • To explore the role of acute HIV infection-that is, the time immediately after infection, when viral levels are extremely high and many are unaware of their HIV status—in driving the epidemic, and devise new prevention methods based on this knowledge;

  • To create development programs that are appropriate and sustainable within the communities for which they are intended;

  • To strengthen and improve the quality of services provided to substance abusers and their families;

  • To expand efforts to optimize the provision and management of antiretroviral treatment, study linkages between AIDS and other major infectious diseases such as malaria, and tuberculosis and increase healthcare capacity and infrastructure in the United States.

  • To research and aggressively pursue the implementation of practical, effective, cost-effective and humane HIV/AIDS policies locally, nationally, and internationally.

Strategy

The CENTER FOR AIDS PREVENTION strategy is to represent its services and expertise as the best and most logical solution to the victims of HIV/AIDS. We are positioning the organization as the leader in the global movement. The charity will use a variety of approaches and materials including a PR firm which will create red carpet events in the entertainment industry, as well as media, brochures, white papers, corporate website, and other means to facilitate HIV/AIDS awareness.

Resource Needs

The Center for AIDS Prevention continues to pave the way for future breakthroughs in HIV/AIDS. Further, we expand our reach by applying our approaches to other, related diseases of grave and urgent concern such as hepatitis, tuberculosis, and malaria.
